Stop And Smell The Roses

I love this quote by Henri Matisse, "there are always flowers for those that want to see them." I made a promise with myself to be positive this year, and decided to reinforce that goal by writing down one thing I'm thankful for every night. These past couple of weeks have been stressful but I like that it forces me to push myself. I used to give up if something got slightly difficult, but I'm slowly learning to believe in myself - it really is all about perspective. I think that's why I've been going to bikram yoga even though I'm miserable and can't wait for class to end. But I won't lie there's no better feeling than the satisfaction of knowing I made it through a 90 minute class, even though I'm drenched in sweat and aching all over. The hard part is not reaching for chips or ice cream after class...the struggle is real. To those that may be feeling down and having a hard time picking yourself up I hope that you can see the glass half full.

Love, Sharon

  2. Beautiful photos, I love that quote it is quite true! I find myself feeling the same as you when I go to my weekly art class. I dread it at first, but once I'm finished with my 2 hour class, I feel happy and ready to continue my day because I just expressed myself in one of my favorite ways!

  5. I think your resolution of writing down things that you are thankful for is great. Some scientific literature shows that there are actual health benefits for doing so although I don't have the titles of these papers at my finger tips. Another thing you might want to look into is mindfulness.

Also quick question, where is that beanie from?

Love your blog and thank you!
