Hello May

Finding happiness in the little things has been something I've been working on. It's easy to forget to count your blessings, but this season in life has allowed for me to grow in many ways (aside from my waist). I have decided to quit baking banana bread, because I can no longer hide my food baby. Few things that I look forward to every morning are: good morning texts, making my daily iced latte, watching the peony in my garden slowly bloom, and letting my creativity flow. Some days I don't feel inspired and some days I do. I usually recharge after a trip, but since traveling has been halted I've been trying to find other ways to find inspiration. Michael Jordan's documentary The Last Dance has reignited a flame to be passionate about what I do. To always be better than I was yesterday and to work on my craft. I love watching documentaries because I'm fascinated by people's journey on how they got to where they are now.

On a more personal note, it's been nice being home instead of traveling (although I do miss it). I do feel like traveling won't be the same even after this pandemic ends. Being an Asian American, I worry at times whether or not people think I'm a threat when I walk into a grocery store or am simply just walking outside. I try to stay away from watching or reading too much news, because sometimes it's hard to distinguish what's true and what's not. This pandemic has reminded me once again that at the end of the day, we're all human despite our skin color. It's been humbling to see communities come together and help one another out, and hopefully we can see the silver lining in all of this.

I hope everyone stays positive and healthy xx

Love, Sharon
